Why StopSmack

Misophonia is not just a minor annoyance—it can profoundly affect daily life. Here’s why StopSmack was created.

My Experience

I have suffered from misophonia since my early years. Everyday mouth sounds—lip smacking, gulping, heavy breathing—can trigger extreme anger and frustration. This sensitivity makes it difficult to enjoy music, podcasts, videos, or even conversations.

The constant tension and irritation can affect productivity, focus, and personal relationships. Living with misophonia is challenging, and I know firsthand how much it can impact someone’s daily life.

The Problem

Lip smacking, gulping, heavy breathing, and other common mouth sounds make it hard to enjoy audio content and everyday interactions.

The Solution

StopSmack automatically filters these sounds, reducing irritation and providing a peaceful listening experience across music, podcasts, videos, and audiobooks.

Why StopSmack Was Built

StopSmack was created to provide relief from misophonia triggers. By filtering out disruptive mouth sounds, it allows users to focus, enjoy content, and reclaim their peace of mind.

My goal is to make everyday listening much more enjoyable for anyone affected by misophonia, so you can finally enjoy music, podcasts, videos, and audiobooks without frustration.
